Medical Connections Launches Major Social Media Campaign…includes iPhone App
Of all the areas that lead in social recruiting, staffing and healthcare are not high on the list. However, a Florida healthcare staffing company is making big strides. In a recent press release, Medican Connections announced its new social recruitment initiative that includes Facebook, Twitter, and a free iPhone App.
As of today (April 30, 2010), the Facebook page is completely unimpressive. There’s nothing there. I’m sure though, that with the efforts the company is putting into its Twitter and mobile tactics, that Facebook is quick to follow. Like many companies, Medical Connections is using Twitter and TweetMyJobs.com to post its opening on Twitter. What is unique is its use of an iPhone app.
Called “Medical Connections,” the iPhone app is described on the iTunes app store as, “Welcome to Medical Connections App which provides fresh jobs in the allied healthcare and medical industries. Features include: search between thousands of jobs, select between job categories, add job to your favorites, apply for email alerts, search jobs by distance, see the location on the map and apply for the job right on your phone.” -iTunes
What’s particularly impressive about this app is that it’s essentially one-of-a-kind. In a previous post, I discussed how mobile and apps are really way behind in social media recruitment. This new app from Medical Connection will hopefully inspire a new set of recruiters to follow suit. Today, there are only a handful of high-volume recruiters using apps for recruitment. They include AT&T and Deloitte. This app marks the first (known) app from a staffing firm for the iPhone platform.
Medical Connections will be able to successfully run this app due to the fact that they have a large recruiting need, a last audience of potential job seekers, and a career site technology that can integrate with the platform.
